CoSTAR Event Briefings

CoSTAR represents a total investment of £95.8m – a research and innovation infrastructure to create new products, experiences and markets for the screen and performance industries. Full details of the call and application process will be announced when the funding call opens on 11 October.

To support the launch of CoSTAR we are running a series of briefing events around the UK in October and November.

These events are an opportunity for potential bidders and consortia to learn more about the CoSTAR programme and find out full details of the application process. The first event will take place in Cardiff as part of BEYOND, followed by sessions across the UK. To find out more and register your interest below.

About CoSTAR

The unprecedented success of Arts & Humanities Research Council’s Creative Industries Clusters programme demonstrated the transformational impact that funded research can have on the creative sector. AHRC is committed to building on this legacy to secure the UK’s competitiveness, and this major new infrastructure investment in Convergent Screen Technologies And performance in Realtime (CoSTAR) is leading the way.

CoSTAR will transform the screen and performance sectors of the UK’s creative industries.

CoSTAR is intended to be a networked infrastructure supporting a series of facilities operating in close collaboration. The forthcoming funding call is for proposals to deliver a CoSTAR National Lab and three or more CoSTAR Network Labs which together will comprise the central architecture of the new infrastructure. The Network Labs will work close to the current challenges faced by industry while the National Lab will support research on future waves of technology.
